"Nature Parks" project

Casela Nature Parks, the premier nature park in Mauritius, offers a variety of thrilling activities across its 350 hectares, divided into five unique zones: Thrill Mountain, Predator Kingdom, African Safari, Pangia Birds and Rides, and World of Events. This project involved designing a mobile app to enhance user experience, featuring functionalities like a detailed map and tracking capabilities. Drawing inspiration from the Disneyland app, I led a team of designers to conduct user research and create an intuitive design.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to design a mobile app that catered to the diverse needs of Casela's visitors, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. This involved integrating various functionalities such as a detailed map, activity tracking, and real-time updates, all while maintaining a cohesive and user-friendly interface.

Goals

The goal was to create a mobile app that enhanced the visitor experience at Casela Nature Parks. This involved developing a user interface that was intuitive and easy to navigate, providing users with essential information and features to make their visit enjoyable and hassle-free. The aim was to ensure that the app was both functional and visually appealing, aligning with Casela's brand identity.

Process

As a UI designer, I led a team to design a mobile app for Casela Nature Parks. The project required close collaboration with stakeholders and a cross-functional team to ensure the app met user needs and business goals.

High-Intensity Design Process:

  • Rapid Ideation: Conducted quick brainstorming sessions to generate ideas and solutions.

  • User Research: Gathered insights and feedback from potential users to inform design decisions.

  • Design and Prototyping: Utilized Figma for UI design, wireframing, and prototyping. Created detailed user flows to map out the user journey and developed high-fidelity prototypes to simulate the final product.

  • Collaboration: Used Miro for collaborative sessions and research presentations. Managed tasks and workflows using Jira.

Testing and Environments:

  • Conducted internal reviews and feedback sessions to refine the designs.

  • Ensured the app met user expectations and requirements within the short time frame.
